The Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has reminded on religious sisters of their commitment to serving God.

He said this while gracing a function at Kisubi along Entebbe road for the Institute of Immaculate Heart of Mariparatrix Ggogonya where six new nuns professed their first vows, five made perpetual vows, five others celebrated silver jubilees and only two marked their golden jubilees respectively.

Those who celebrated silver jubilees from Kampala Archdiocese include; Sr. Juliet Nakazibwe from Mattuga Parish, Sr. Sylivia Namubiru from Kankoobe parish, Sr. Benardet Namaganda from Kimanya Parish and Sr. Margaret Naluwuge from Buyoga Parish in Masaka diocese and Sr. Rose Namombwe from Buyambi Parish in Kiyinda Mityana diocese while those who celebrated golden jubilees are Sr. Joachim Najjuma from Buyambi Parish in Kiyinda Mityana and Sr. Teopista Nalwanga from Kitagobwa Parish in Kampala Archdiocese.

His Grace Lwanga reiterated Pope Francis’ message to the religious not to lose memory about God and their calling.

He further congratulated the celebrants and the institute for clocking 70 years since it was founded by the late Archbishop Joseph kabana under the charisma of reparation.

The celebration was attended by Bishops John Baptist Kaggwa of Masaka, Joseph Anthony Zziwa of Kiyinda-Mityana, Paul Ssemogere of Kasana Luwero, Bishop Peter Zorire from South Africa, Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga and the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.
