His Eminence Cardinal Fernando Filoni the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in the Roman Curia has hailed Kampala Archdiocese the 50 years of existence noting that his Golden Jubilee should deepen faith, evangelization and emphasizing works of charity.

Cardinal Filoni who was the chief guest for this Golden Jubilee said the Archdiocese is challenged with increasing population in search for better opportunities which have not been realised leaving many in inhuman living conditions, poverty, disease and immorality.

He added that Gulu Archdiocese is almost facing a similar challenge with hundreds of people living in abject poverty without basic needs due to conflicts and this calls for charity and dedicated service with those in suffering.

Cardinal Filoni said a Jubilee is to set anew in faith and consolidation of the achievements with loyalty, applauding the three Archbishops; the late Cardinal Emanuel Nsubuga, Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala and Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga the Archbishops who have continued the works of the missionaries in Kampala Archdiocese.

He donated a medal to the archbishop and a chalice in remembrance of this Golden Jubilee.

After the mass cardinal Filoni together with His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, His grace Emmanuel Obbo of Tororo Archdiocese Bishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kasana Luweero, Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa of Masaka, Bishop Matthias Ssekamanya bishop Emeritus of Lugazi cut a jubilee cake.
