The Bishop Emeritus of Lugazi diocese Rt. Rev. Matthias Ssekamanya has today launched a new Sub Parish in St. Agnes Kibuye Makindye called St. Luka Banabakintu located in Nabisaalu Zone a historical area in Kakindye Division to the NRA liberation war.
Bishop Ssekamanya together with the Parish Priest of Makindye Fr. Joseph Lugoobe commissioned the 8 man commit that is to solicit at least 160 million shillings to clear off half an acre of land where they are to build the sub parish church and also sworn in the new pastoral committee.
Bishop Ssekamanya acknowledged the Christians for their love for the Catholic Church but urged them to be exemplary, role models to the young ones and above all to build two churches the structural and spiritual for the strong foundation of their sub parish.
He castigated immorality, indecency and carelessness amongst elders, which sins have eroded morals of the young ones.
The Member of Parliament for Makindye West Alan Ssewanyana one of the special guests contributed 5 million shillings and called for support to those legislators who stand firm against bad laws like the amendments in article 26 of the land law.
