The Franciscan friars a Catholic Missionary Congregation of priests serving in Uganda have heeded to the cries of many parents by mobilizing support to feed pupils and students studying in all their founded schools.

The Franciscans who are barely 10 in Uganda serve at Kakoge Parish in Luweero, Uganda Martyrs Shrine Munyonyo and Matugga parish with additional social services like promoting health, education and Saacos apart from spiritual nourishment to Ugandans.

The members of the congregation mainly from Poland like the Parish Priest of St. Francis Matugga Fr. Adam Mutebi says the five schools within his parish and a technical school get scholarships and feeding through solicited support from donors in Poland, Germany and Britain.

Each child is supported with 100 dollars in a year which money is used for buying lunch for the pupils and students

Fr. Adam adds that they also target at utilizing the Church land to empower sub parishes, catechists and Catholic Church activities.

On the pastoral side Fr. Adam is concerned with the high number of parishioners in extra marital relationships or not in holy matrimony with many in mixed marriages; Christian and Muslim a situation that limits the church’s growth.
