Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga reminded Catholics who are running from one place to the other in search for miracles that the holy Eucharist they leave in the church is the foundation of miracles.

While leading the Eucharistic celebrations to mark 138 years since the first holy Eucharist was celebrated Uganda at Nabulagala St. John Baptist Parish and at the same time the parish celebrating 10 years since it was erected, Dr. Lwanga said it’s shameful for Catholics to believe in individuals for miracles who end up misleading them, urging Catholics to believe in their faith without doubt.

He hailed the white fathers from France who evagenlised Africa and Uganda in particular dedicating it to mother Mary a foundation that must be protected because Mother Mary has protected Ugandans from times of trial unlike any other place in the world.

Dr. Lwanga acknowledged the committee he instituted to investigate the cause of beautification of Fr. Laudel Mopeel and Br. Amans led by Fr. Richard Nyombi of the congregation of the white fathers and called on people to support the exercise with evidence about the miracles received after praying through the two missionaries and also providing money because the work involves a lot of movements, investigations and compilation of evidence which should all be financed.

Dr. Lwanga also graced 50 children with the sacrament of holy Eucharist with a call to them and parents to be true witnesses of Christ.

St. John Baptist Nabulagala Parish is the first place where the two missionaries and their colleagues settled after arriving in Uganda on February 17th, 1879

Meanwhile Fr. Richard Nyombi informaed the gathering of the progress of the investations to the cause of beautification of Fr. Mapeera and also revealed that Rev. Fr. Gerald Chabanon who has been the superior of the white fathers in Uganda has been appointed provincial of the white fathers in the whole of Europe.

Fr. Chabanon on his arrival in Uganda was posted to Karamoja where he served for three years and came to Kampala at Ludero House serving as the superior for the white fathers in Uganda for three years.

He will be leaving by the end of June 2017 to his home country France then proceed to Brussels in Belgium at the headquarters of the white fathers in Europe to start his new appointment.

This was revealed by Fr. Richard Nyombi the head of Mapeera and Br. Amans beautification committee a priest from the same congregation at St. John Baptist Nabulagala at the celebrations to mark 138 years since the first holy Eucharist was celebrated in Uganda by Fr. Laudel Mapeera and others.

Fr. Nyombi also announced that the White Fathers and White Sisters will next year start celebrations for 150 years since the two religious congregation were started and called for prayers to see that as the white fathers live to the vow of evangelizing the world with a true word of God as taught in the Catholic Church.
