The Director of Justice and Peace in Kampala Archdiocese Rev. Fr. Cyprian Masembe and a member of the Mill Hill Missionaries has marked 50 years in priesthood since he was ordained in 1967 by the late Cardinal Emanuel Nsubuga along with Fr. Paul Nsubuga and Fr. Bernard Felani.

At his celebrations marked at St. Peters’ Parish Nsambya Fr. Masembe was described as a dedicated priest who has celebrated sacraments with love and among those he graced with the sacrament of Holy Matrimony is the 1st Deputy Katikiro of Buganda Ambassador Emmanuel Ssendaula.

His name sake the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga first presented the Papal blessing for his Golden Jubilee in Priesthood, noting that all those named after St. Cyprian are great men who serve with land marks.

The main preacher Msgr. Wynyard Katende the director of Faye de charity at Namugongo emphasized faithfulness to God as the pillar to priestly service rather than successes that are marked with grades and scores by the public that it brings pride the beginning of failure.

The 1st Deputy Katikiro Emmanuel Ssendaula described Fr. Masembe as one of the few leaders who cannot compromise truth emphasizing that Uganda needs people who can expose the injustices committed by the leaders.

Fr. Masembe in his speech appreciated those who have supported his call and requested for more prayers to remain focused in service to God and the peoples.
