1500 SECURITY OFFICERS DEPLOYED IN KYADONDO EAST

The Inter agency Security committee has deployed more than 1500 operatives from different security agencies in Kyadondo East constituency by-election.

The operatives are drawn from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), Internal Security Organization (ISO), Police and Military Police.

Officers from four police Directorates are part of the security team supervised by the Director Operations, Asuman Mugyenyi and Kampala Metropolitan Police Commandant, Frank Mwesigwa.

The police personnel include; general operation officers under the Kampala Metropolitan Police, about 50 detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, more than 150 intelligence personnel and 500 police officers from the Field Force Unit some of whom will be on standby with Military Police.

Asuman Mugyenyi, the Director Operations, says the personnel was pooled from all Divisions in Kampala Metropolitan.

Kyadondo East has been marked as a hot bed for electoral violence basing on its past history as well Tuesday’s incidents. On Tuesday, supporters of Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine attacked Kasangati police station demanding his release.
