Pilots, Managers and Directors of flight companies in East Africa are mourning the death of Captain Apollo Malowa, the pilot of the ill-fated helicopter that crashed into Lake Nakuru.

Captain Malowa a Kenya Air Force pilot and director of Flex Air Charters, has been described as one of the highly experienced, creative and most trusted helicopter pilots in East Africa.

He has been hired At Flex Air, by most politicians like Tanzania’s John Pombe Magufuli in 2015, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in 2011 and 2016 presidential campaigns, the official pilot of Nasa’s leader Raila Odinga since he was the prime Minister in 2007 among other business moguls.

Despite his glamorous careers, controversy has always flown with Captain Malowa citing last year’s incident where, he hit the headlines for landing a helicopter in the middle of a busy highway in Bondo, Siaya County, to greet his mother while flying Raila Odinga.
