Youth activists under the Jobless Brotherhood have urged Parliament not to pass the security budget until police parades all officers alleged to be torturing suspects in custodies.

While addressing the media at their headquarter in Kampala, the group National Coordinator Norman Tumuhimbise believes that part of the security budget is spent on procuring equipments used to torture suspects especially at Nalufenya detention center.

Yesterday, the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga ordered MPs on Parliamentary Human Rights Committee to inspect Nalufenya detention center after several complaints of tortured suspects.

Tumuhimbise further urges Kadaga to inspect Nalufenya by herself instead of waiting for a report from MPs.

It is reported that Kamwenge Town Council Mayor, Geoffrey Byamukama and other suspects in the murder of former Police Spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi have been detained and tortured in Nalufenya detention facility in Jinja
