The hearing of the age limit appeal in the Supreme Court entered the second day on Wednesday.

Attorney General, William Byaruhanga and his team made the highlights of their written submissions in defense of Constitutional Court decision that upheld the scrapping of clauses that limited the age of presidential candidates from the Constitution.

On Tuesday, lawyers representing three appellants asked the Supreme Court to annul the constitutional amendment law that removed the 75-year presidential age limit clause that paved way for life presidency in Uganda and allowed President Museveni to contest in the next general elections in 2021 when he will be aged 76.

They were presenting a summary of their written submissions to the highest court in the land.

The appellants are; Uganda Law Society (ULS), six opposition MPs and city lawyer Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka.
