Abdullah Kitatta, the chairman of Boda boda 2010 and 12 others have appeared before the Unit Disciplinary court sitting at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) in Mbuya today afternoon.

The others are Sowali Ngobi, Amon Twinomujuni, Joel Kibirige, Matia Ssenfuka, Hassan Ssebata, John Kayondo, Hassan Ssengooba, Sunday Ssemogerere, John Ssebandeke, Hussein Mugema, Fred Bwanika and Ibrahim Ssekajja.

They were charged with five charges, which include failure to protect war material contrary to section 122 (1) and (2) (h) and (I) of the UPDF act, 2005.

The other is possession of Military stores contrary to section 161 of the UPDF act.

The Defense Ministry Spokesperson, Lt. Colonel Deo Akiiki, says the suspects will continue appearing before the unit Disciplinary Court until they are committed to the Court martial since they are charged with capital offenses.

Section 119 of the UPDF Act provides that every person found in unlawful possession of arms, ammunition or equipment ordinarily being the monopoly of the defense forces become subject to military law.

The failure to protect war materials attracts a maximum sentence of death while that of being in possession of military stores attracts a life sentence.

The 13 suspects are to reappear for mention of the case on 9th February 2018.

the accused were picked up on January 20th from different locations in Kampala for their alleged involved in the killing of Francis Ekalugar, the former accountant of Case Clinic early this month.

The Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima said it had finalized investigations on 8 suspects and files submitted to the Director of Public Prosecution DPP to consider their prosecution over murder charges of the former accountant of Case Hospital Francis Ekalungar.

Some of the 8 included ;Mawa Muzamiru,Yiga Deo ,Mulema Amza and Navugga Resty among others.
