Musicians under their umbrella body, the Uganda Music Association (UMA) have introduced the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairman for Eastern Region Capt. Mike Mukula as their new patron.

This happened during an association general meeting that was presided over by UMA Chairman Julius Kyazze at Silver Springs in Bugoloobi, Kampala yesterday.

Delivering his speech before the artists, Mukula highlighted the need for musicians to unite and form a formidable brand.

He later contributed 5million shillings in cash towards the association activities like securing office premises which sparked off artists to also raise at least 14 million shillings to further support the association.

The former Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) Executive Director Dr. Maggie Kigozi also made a surprise attendance at the meeting and urged musicians to foster more business collaborations by partnering with UIA.

Over 20 musicians attended the meeting including, Edrisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo, Haruna Mubiru, Mesearch Semakula and Navio Kigozi among others while the Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine registered apologies for missing the meeting due to tasks within his constituency.
