A delegation of Democratic Party (DP) top leadership led by its President General Norbert Mao has paid a courtesy visit to His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala at his home in Nsambya, Makindye division.

The retired archbishop of Kampala is now living a quiet life but still with his good memory in his retirement home at Nsambya in Kampala

However, during a DP visit, Cardinal Wamala encouraged the party delegation to always stand strong and speak issues affecting the country so that voiceless Ugandans are not much affected but also receives services diligently.

He said that leaders are meant to be accountable and thinkers of for the society, establish a favorable environment for people to transform their lives.

Speaking to the media during the visit, Mao said that their visit was meant to monitor, comfort and seek guidance from the Cardinal on certain issues that are challenging the party since His Eminence is a senior citizen.

He called upon all Ugandans to visit and support the Cardinal as he goes through his ageing life.

Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, who will be celebrating his 92nd birthday on December 15 this year, has had an illustrious career. He was ordained a priest in 1957 and he retired from his position as Archbishop of Kampala in 2006.
