The Vicar General of Lugazi diocesan Msgr Richard Kayondo has urged parents and guardians to emphasize discipline, cultural and moral values in their children if they are to be of importance in the future.

In his reflection during the Eucharistic celebration to mark the 2nd Caritas Day and handover of a UGX 100 million three class room building newly constructed for  St John’s NEPOMUK by Uganda Czech Development Trust an organization from Czech Republic, encouraged parents to act exemplary before their children because they are the first role models.

Msgr. Kayondo acknowledged the contribution in number of projects done by Uganda Czech development trust lead by Director Caritas Prague Eng. Nemec Jaroslav, like sponsorship to vulnerable children within Lugazi Diocese, building of schools like St John Nepomuk primary school, St Charles Lwanga Technical institute among that are benefiting over 2000 children.

He called upon parents to protect and utilize the facilities for child education and skills development, just in line with the theme “Child Protection, Everyone’s Responsibility”

Msgr Richard Kayondo represented Rt. Rev. Bishop Christopher Kakooza the ordinary of the diocese who is out of the country on official duties.

Meanwhile the Member of Parliament for Buikwe south David Mutebi noted the significant role played by non government organizations in supporting national programs through the provision of public utilities where government could be over stretched.

They have also helped in fighting poverty, illiteracy and disease encouraging residents and all stakeholders to promote such development.
