The exercise for the collection of date to support the cause of beatification of Fr. Laudel Mapeera and Br. Amans has ended in Kampala Archdiocese and the official closure of the exercise is to be held on September 8th at St. John Baptist Nabulagala Parish.

According to the Chancellor Fr. Dr. Joseph Mary Ssebunya confirmed this at Lubaga Cathedral saying the official closure of the exercise will be graced by the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian KizitoLwanga with a Mass.

The exercise for the collection of the data that has taken almost three years has been led by Fr. Richard Nyombi a white Father in close collaboration and supervision of the Archbishop Dr. Lwanga.

Fr. Mapeera and Br. Amans arrived in Uganda through Entebbe Kiggungu on February 17, 1879 evangelised the country to the extent of getting the 22 Uganda martyrs who were the first learners of Catholic faith and accepted to be killed for Jesus between November 15, 1885 to January 27, 1887.

The missionaries died but their remains were put at Nabulagala the first parish they founded in Uganda.
