A row between senior government leaders over mistreatment and fraudulent transfer of government property has reached Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s Land Commission of Inquiry with the purported victim threatening to use civil courts over acts of ultra vires.

The Disagreements are said to involve the Finance Minister Matia Kasaija and the Executive Secretary for the Custodian Board for Departed Asian Properties Rtd Capt. Bernard Tumwesigire who was looked out of office in May this year under unclear reasons by the minister.

Appearing before the Land Commission Capt Tumwesigire a senior army officer said the minister’s actions have frustrated operations of the Custodian Board until leaving governing property at stake among which the fraudulent transfer of government property in Mbale by those he called imposters.

He revealed that Police has investigated and concluded that a number of plots on the public land in Mbale had been taken by fraudsters.
