The opposition Democratic Party (DP) has given a seven day ultimatum to the Electoral Commission (EC) to transfer the Returning Officer for Kyotera District Daniel Baguma.
Addressing the press at the party headquarters in Kampala, the Deputy Party Publicity Secretary Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro says Baguma was not the right officer to conduct the election given Justice Lawrence Gidudu’s pronouncement of incompetence and need for civic education for him to administer any other election
He further highlights that they wrote a letter to the effect on 21st last month and they received a reply on August 23rd but no action has been taken.
He threatens that as a party, they are to take an action once EC does not react by 21st this month.
DP declared Tom Darlington Balojja to vie for Kyotera LC5 elections and Robinah Ssentongo Nakasirye for Kyotera Woman Member of Parliament seat.
Meanwhile Mufumbiro also called on president Museveni to stop his land amendment campaigns saying they are wastage of time.
