The opposition Democratic Party (DP) has threatened to file a case in high court challenging the matter in which anti- age limit Members of Parliament (MPs) were whisked from the house on  September 26th this year.

Addressing the press at the party headquarters in Kampala, DP President Norbert Mao says that the party Deputy publicity Secretary Waiswa Mufumbiro will lead the legal team.

It should be remembered that 25 MPs were suspended by the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga for obstructing parliament and in the process officers said to be from the Special Force Command (SFC) stormed the chamber and ejected the legislators forcefully leaving some with serious injuries.

Mao says they are also to challenge the Igara west MP Raphael Magyezi’s method of tabling the age limit motion on the floor of parliament.

Mao further says that they are to petition the government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa requesting to address members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) caucus about the dangers of amending article 102 of the constitution since they believe in dialogue.
