The Democratic Party (DP) and opposition’s “Sole Candidate’ for Busia LCV by-elections Deo Hasubi Njoki has declined quitting the race for government appointment to serve as a commission on the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC).

This comes a day after DP President Norbert Mao threatened that the party would have no chance but denounce Njoki in the event that accepted the appointment to UHRC.

Addressing the journalists at the DP headquarters at City House in Kampala, Njuki said he is still in the race ready to serve the people of Busia and Uganda at large than being offered jobs that are not clear.

He calls upon his supporters to stay calm and support him.

Meanwhile the party president Norbert Mao has condemned President Yoweri Museveni over his acts of fishing from the opposition with the aim of flooring them.

He further appreciated Njoki for overcoming Museveni’s temptations and having maintained a strong back bone
