Former Forum for Democratic Change FDC presidential flag bearer Dr. Kizza Besigye has backtracked on his earlier statements where he insisted of having illegitimate regime of NRM in power.

Dr. Besigye has consistently called the NRM and President Museveni illegitimate following the 2016 general election but during a media briefing shortly after meeting with opposition MPs at Parliament denied claims of calling the ruling government illegitimate that he was misquoted.

Some of the notable points from their discussion chaired by the chief opposition whip Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda in the leader of opposition’s boardroom; Besigye informed the MPs that they are intensifying their campaign of sensitizing Ugandans to free themselves from the repressive regime.

Besigye says there is need for the opposition MPs to team up with a right description as “minority leadership” since those in the NRM who coprise the highest number are termed as the government.

Besigye turned up on invitation to brief the MPs on what“the peoples’ government” has done for the last two years after the 2016 general elections.
