Renowned activist Stella Nyanzi has been blocked from accessing the police headquarters in Naguru, where she had gone to meet the Inspector General of Police this afternoon.

According to Nyanzi, she had gone to the facility on appointment that was approved by the DIGP Brig. Sabitti Muzeeyi.

Heavily armed anti-riot police were deployed at the main entrance and barriers mounted to stop any passerby.

Last week, police blocked a group of women who had moved to the headquarters to petition the IGP over the escalating women kidnaps and murders.

After running battles, police arrested seven people including the FDC Women League Spokesperson Sarah Eperu, but were later released without charges.

Police agreed and promised to set a date on which the women group could petition the police boss.
