The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has condemned government for blocking the former presidential candidate Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye from appearing on Voice of Kigezi to sensitize residents about constitutional land amendment bill.

Addressing the press at the party headquarters in Najjanankubi, the Acting party President Alice Alaso noted that the action of blocking their leader on a public radio which President Museveni also sued to rally support for the same bill is a clear indication that the intentions are not in the interest of Ugandans.

Last Friday, Dr. Besigye while on the campaigning trail for the FDC Rukiga woman MP seat candidate Shillah Alituha wanted to use that opportunity to address the populace, paid for the airtime but only to be stopped at the reception and ordered to meet the RDC Dalious Nandinda for any further discussions.

Alaso appealed to members of parliament not to be blinded with president Museveni’s campaign and pass the land bill because its intentions are faulty.

Meanwhile, FDC has revealed that they have made adjustments in the days of the national delegate’s conference from 17th to the 24th of November to enable them first participate in the local council elections scheduled for 21st of the same month.
