In a bid to save Ugandans dying due to blood shortage, the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has set to utilize this year’s February 14th Valentine’s Day to donate blood at its headquarters in Najjanankumbi.

Currently, Uganda is grappling with a critical shortage of blood with just 150 units remaining in the health ministry’s blood bank facility a challenge that possess a serious health risk while saving life.

The country needs at least 340,000 units of safe blood annually, but only 200,000 units are collected a year.

Addressing a weekly press conference, the party National Youth League Vice Chairperson Walid Lubega says that they are partnering with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS), the FDC leadership, youths and other well-wishers to participate in the blood donation campaign from 9am-5pm.

Meanwhile, the FDC Presidential Publicity Secretary Sarah Eperu reveals that the party President Amuriat is traversing the whole country collecting views from the general public that could transform and control the internal leadership weaknesses.
