The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Kawempe South Member of parliament, Mubarak Munyagwa have been arraigned before Mbarara magistrate’s court over malicious damage and inciting violence and granted a non cash bond of 5 million shillings each.

The duo was arraigned this morning before the Mbarara Grade One Magistrate, Sanyu Mukasa following their arrest from Kabale yesterday. The two had reportedly gone to check on Dr. Kizza Besigye, the former FDC president who is locked up in Kabale.

They are accused of inciting FDC supporters to attack police and smash their vehicles while leading a procession in Mbarara town on Tuesday which they denied.

Their sureties including Mbarara FDC Chairperson, Stanley Katembeya and Mbarara Municipality FDC Party Chairperson, George Twesigye also executed non cash bond of Shillings 5 million and the case was adjourned to January 16th 2018.

Amuriat faulted police for disrupting his FDC presidential campaigns demanding it to come out openly and declare its interest in the FDC party campaigns.
