The Minister for Internal Affairs Gen. Jeje Odongo has finally appeared before parliament today and confirmed that police is holding 44 suspect in connection to the murder of 20 women in the areas of Katabi town council Entebbe and Nansana municipality.

This was after immense pressure to his ministry to update the country on who is behind the increasing murders of women in Wakiso district.

Odongo says that 22 out of the 44 suspects have already been taken to court while the rest await the DDP to sanction their files.

Odongo also informed parliament that ever since police increased its vigilance and surveillance 23 women who were targets of rape and murder have been rescued.

Adding that ritual sacrifice is the motive behind these murders basing on the statements recorded from one Ibrahim Kaweesa aka Tetemwa of Nansansa said to have been contracted by Tumuhimbize Philips common known as Kanyakole to kill for him 12 women to enable him perform a ritual for his wealth.

For the case of Katabi in Entebbe, Odongo said much as they had been first treated as isolated cases it was later discovered that Katongole ivan commonly known as Jenus was behind such murders with the aim of building his wealth and enhance his businesses.

Meanwhile Odongo says police is still stuck with three un claimed bodies
