The State Minister for Works Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has visited Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake, who is undergoing treatment at Lubaga hospital and insisted never to have boxed the MP.

General Wamala said he just warned Zaake over his wild behavour because he was flying parliamentary chairs in protest over the speakers’ decision which was not good

Zaake sustained life-threatening injuries last week during an unprecedented fracas at parliament, where several legislators of the 25 MPs, suspended by the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga last week were rounded up by security forces and arrested in the chamber.

Zaake, is said to have accused General Katumba Wamala on the social media of “almost ending his life when a punch he received in the fracas left him unconscious. Katumba Wamala is said to have denied the allegations although Zaake said he had forgiven him.

The opposition Forum for Democratic change (FDC) through their deputy spokesperson Paul Mwiru had advised the General Wamala to apologies to the nation and the MP Francis Zaake for his misconduct as a role model and a serving army officer to involve in partisan politics.

Mwiru also supported the idea of their former party president Dr Kizza Besigye of using public action like walk to work every Thursday as a way of showing their dissatisfaction over Members of Parliament who want to amend article 102b.
