The Parish Priest of St. Kizito Parish Bwayise Msger Expedito Ssebayiga has challenged government to devise means of saving the society from effects of natural calamities.

Msger Ssebayiga cited long dry season that covered almost the entire country causing hunger that has left close to 10 million people without any thing to eat.

He said the blame is put on leadership because there is even a full ministry of Disaster preparedness by people have not been assisted which has ashamed the government.

This comes as government has started to distribute food with Mbarara areas being the first to receive this assistance yet those in West Nile and in northern Uganda are the worst affected.

Msgre Ssebayiga condemned murders that are experience in most parts of the country and abuse of human right saying these acts do not depict a sign of the risen lord in one’s heart.

He made the remarks during the Sunday mass on at St. Kizito Parish Bwayise where he called on Ugandans to pray during the Month of Mother Mary in May for this country to receive God’s grace and mercy.
