In a bid to improve Pathology diagnosis for Cancer, the Ministry of Health (MoH) through the Department of National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic Services (NHLDS) and Uganda Cancer Institute has launched the comprehensive pathology trainings to improve cancer diagnosis and care.

Addressing pathologists at the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI), the MoH Permanent Secretary Dr Diana Atwine said that training around the country will empower district pathologists with techniques in quality sample collection, handling, transportation and testing.

 

Atwine further says that early detection of cancer promotes proper treatment process.

 

The trainings also target Surgeons, Gynecologists, Midwives and Laboratory Personnel.
