The Inspector General of Government, Justice Irene Mulyagonja has revealed massive frustration and interference with her office while executing her duties against fraudulent public servants.

????????????????????????????????????

Appearing before the Land Commission of Inquiry today, Mulyagonja cites out a case in Jinja where she recommended a cancellation of a 99 year lease on plot 60-62 along Alidinah Road that had been fraudulently acquired by Birus Property Services Limited but instead her orders were turned down on police orders and developments continued.

She testifies that the Birus owner Simpson Birungi, protected by police evicted and demolished property of occupants contrary to the court ruling.

Now, the IGG wants all these challenges be addressed if her office is to fully and swiftly serve the nation to fight graft and further castigates the continued connivance among government departments and agencies to unlawfully give away public land and property to private individuals.

Mulyagonja requests government to check its public service rules on punishing public servants who recklessly give away property as this will impart some sense of full responsibility to protect public property.
