IGP Ochola bans police officers from taking leave in this month

The Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola has directed that No police personnel will take leave for the next one month.

The ban, which took effect on December 3rd, 2018, will be enforced until mid-January 2019.

The statement indicated that there is an embargo on leave until January 15th 2019 and all Unit commanders are supposed to enforce the embargo. Violation of the embargo will result in disciplinary action.

The embargo is said to solve manpower problems at different Police stations during the festive season when most people want to spend time with their families and relatives.
