The Inspector General of Police, Martins Okoth-Ochola has confirmed that the dreaded Nalufenya police facility will soon be closed.

The Butambala Member of Parliament Muwanga Kivumbi sought clarity on the legality and fate of Nalufenya Prison, Re-arrest of suspects released by courts, torture of suspects by police officers and why one criminal culprit Sobi has never been arrested in spite of him confessing that he is behind the murders in Kampala.
In reply Ochala said he has directed director legal police department to draft an order of closing Nalufenya prison since it has to be closed under the law..
Ochola also informed to the committee that re-arrest of suspects at courts will not happen again and cautioned the director criminal investigations to stop such actions.
