INDIAN VICE PRESIDENT SHRI ANSARI TO VISIT UGANDA

State House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that the India’s Vice President Shri Mohammad Hamid Ansari will be in Uganda for a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Museveni.

H.E Ansari will arrive on February 21, and will be received by the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi according to a joint statement.

During the visit, the Vice-President will hold meetings with the Vice President of Uganda and the President of Uganda before interact with the Indian community in Kampala.

The joint secretary in Ministry of External Affairs in India Nina Malhotra (MEA), said that this will be the first high-level bilateral visit from India to Uganda since 1997 and part of the conscious broadening of India’s diplomatic footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially in the Great Lakes region,” she said in a statement.
