Internee doctors have resumed their industrial action over lack of commitment from the government to cater for their needs.

last year Medical doctors under the umbrella body the Uganda Medical Association and internee doctors went onĀ  strike in protest over poor facilitation, inadequate supplies and poor working conditions, and following a number engagements government promised to work on tier demands which has not materialized.

Speaking to the media at Mulago Guest house the intern doctors’ president Robert Lubega noted that until their demands a catered for, they will not provide any service.

He says that out of 970 total number of intern doctors countrywide, 61 haven’t received their monthly allowances since November last year.

He says they demand over 7 billion shillings as arrears.
