The International Police in Uganda (Interpol Uganda) Director and International relations, AIGP Dr. Fred Yiga, has warned the public against buying counterfeit goods that have flooded Kampala markets and the surrounding districts.

While displaying an assortment of confiscated counterfeit goods, at Interpol offices in Kololo Dr. Yiga blamed the brand owners for failing to protect their products by working with the police to identify all counterfeits on the market.

Among the goods displayed were mattresses, tooth brushes, tooth paste, motor vehicle oil and lubricants, shavers, food items, books among many others.

They were confiscated in an operation Fagia (Sweep) carried out in the city center, and already six files have been opened to investigations.
