The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has said the Israeli raid on Entebbe Airport in July 1976 should be a bridge for unity between Uganda and Israel.

 

In a press release by Parliament, Kadaga who is currently in Israel highlighted the hijacking of a plane carrying Israeli nationals and the subsequent rescue of the passengers by the Israeli Defence Forces, shared the same mind with Israelis prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying terrorist attack binds the two countries and that cooperation should grow.

Kadaga made the remarks while speaking at a Seminar for Heads of African Parliaments that is taking place at the Knesset (Israel Parliament) in Jerusalem saying Uganda enjoyed development reforms with Israel before the attacks which relationship can be rebuilt.

Kadaga, who is accompanied by the Finance State Minister David Bahati and Lucy Akello, called for Israeli investment in agriculture, manufacturing, mining and tourism and visits to religious sites of the Uganda martyrs like it happens to Jerusalem.

The Seminar that has brought together Speakers from South Sudan, Tanzania, Ghana and Rwanda will close tomorrow.
