The Japanese Ambassador to Ugandan His Excellency Kazuaki Kemeda has urged the government of Uganda to tighten accountability measures for the funds meant service delivery for refugees and the host communities.

Announcing a contribution worth USD 7.5 million to support health, education and clean water for refuges and host communities at the Uganda media center in Kampala Kemeda said, any assistance meant for refutes should never be misused and if found punitive measures must be applied to the culprits.

Meanwhile the minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugee Hilary Oneck hailed the Japanese government for her generosity towards Uganda’s needs not only to refugees promising to deal with any corrupt official to such funds.
