The Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) elections that were slated on this Friday August 10th have been postponed to September 08th to avail candidates the association ample time for better preparations.

According to the outgoing UJA President Robert Kagolo, the postponement of the elections is majorly aimed to enable all members who had not renewed their membership and those that had not registered to do so.

Unlike in the past elections, the number of candidates vying for the various positions and those registering to vote seemed overwhelming, compelling the election organizers to make adjustments in their earlier program.

Various journalists have expressed interest in various positions like 3 members have picked nomination forms for Presidency who include; Abubaker Lubowa from Daily Monitor, Bashir Kazibwe Mbaziira of Vision Group and NBStv and Agnes Nandutu from NTV.

Kagolo calls upon Journalists to be calm and organize for the most decent election for the future of the Journalists’’ professional development in the country.
