Judicial officers under their umbrella, the Uganda Judicial Officers Association (UJOA) have today resolved to suspend their strike for the next two months to allow government fulfill its salary review exercise promise not later than this month.

Through their President Godfrey Kaweesa (after winning audience from the president of uganda), in the Extra-Ordinary General Assembly where they interfaced with government warned to resume strike come February 12th next year once government fails to clear that their demands.

This comes after reports that government promised to provide each Magistrate a double Cabin pickup vehicle, security office equipment and salary increment.

However, the Minister for Public Service Wilson Mululi Mukasa in a press briefing at the Media Center in Kampala confirmed government’s resolution of enhancing salaries of all public servants come July 2018.

In a Special cabinet meeting chaired by President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe over the weekend, both Finance and Public Service ministries were directed to study the new salary structures and possible avenues to cater for salary increment for all public servants in this month and will be implemented in July 2018.
