The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has issued new directives to parliamentary sergeant at Arm and the Clerk to parliament to seal off the fourth floor of parliament that connects to the office of president which is believed to be a security threat to the MPs.

The route was reportedly used by the Special Force Command (SFC) officers to access parliament on September 27th to evict 25 MPs who had been suspended a scenario that ended up in a fight and injuring several Members of Parliament.

Kadaga also directed all parliamentary police officers to always wear their uniforms with their names and ranks well labeled, with a list of their names presented to the speaker.

The directive also orders all other security agencies apart from police be withdrawn from parliament with immediate effect from Tuesday.

She therefore assured MPs of security and argued them to adhere to the parliamentary dress code that forced the Makindye West representative Allan Ssewanya to change his attire to match to the parliamentary code.
