The Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga has condemned police for the continued arrest of Ugandans wearing red ribbons and attires as a sign of their dissatisfaction against the amendment of article 102 b of the constitution.

Currently Members of parliament are consulting electorates on the amendment of article 102 b of the constitution.

Speaking in the Buganda Parliament known as “Lukiiko”, Mayiga noted that every Ugandan has a right to his/ her opinion on the amendment of article 102 b since the constitution is the supreme law of the country, just like President Museveni re-affirmed it during the 55th Independence Day celebrations in Bushenyi.

He further blames attacks against pupils of Winterland Primary School by the said Bodaboda 2010 at Busega along Northern bypass recently saying it was uncalled for.

However the Speaker of the Buganda Lukiiko Hon. Nelson Kawalya restrained Lukiiko members from debating on the matter.

Meanwhile, Mayiga Mayiga challenged police to produce a concrete statement and remedy on a number of killings cited in several parts of the country like Bukomansimbi, Rakai and Wakiso among other places.
