The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has decried the increasing murders in the country that are again targeting mostly women.

Mayiga while addressing the Buganda Lukiiko at Bulange Mengo said, government can’t keep silent over such acts, grounded explanation must be given and measures taken to address the problem.

This comes as a number of women are kidnapped with demands for ransom and killed while others are discovered dead by strangling or bitten by blunt objects to death among who include the most recent Rose Nakiseka from Kalungu and YMCA Student Briana Nalule

Kalungu West Member of Parliament Joseph Ssewungu blamed parliament for not paying attention to the killings promising to move a motion calling for an independent investigation and audit of the security agencies.

Ssewungu has also blamed police, Uganda Communications Commission, National Identification Registration Authority for failing to trace the murderers.

Meanwhile Ssewungu announced that he is to conduct LC1 elections in his constituency next month as part of the move to cab insecurity.
