The office of the Inspector General of Police, General Kale Kayihura has taken over investigations into the case against city socialite, Brian White Kirumira.

Kirumira was picked up last week for allegedly shooting and injuring Victor Bitwire outside his home in Buziga, a Kampala suburb.

He was slapped with attempted murder charges and locked up at Kabalagala Police Station. Police also conducted a search in his home and recovered an AK47 rifle believed to have been used to shoot Bitwire.

Two Police officers believed to be part of Kirumira’s security detail were arrested and locked in connection to the incident.

However, Kirumira still denies any connections to the charges and the Police officers said to be his bodyguards.

The suspects are said to be currently detained at Nalufenya and the case has been moved from Kabalagala to the police cid head offices.
