Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Council led by the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has given its self three months to come up with a draft law to regulate the operation of the Bodaboda industry in the city.

The declaration was made shortly after the council meeting with the bodaboda operators at City Hall in Kampala meant to collect views from the cyclists on the best way to regulate the industry.

Lukwago says they will meet all bodaboda cyclists from the stages to the division level collecting views on how the business can be streamlined and the challenge faced.

At the beginning of the meeting, some bodaboda cyclists from the Centenary sect attempted to cause a fight against those belonging to the Bodaboda 2010 whom they claimed wouldn’t have been part, accusing them of killing operators and disorganizing the industry.

These were calmed by the Lord Mayor and some were moved out from the meeting by police officers but later allowed in.

Recently, Kampala Minister Betty Kamya made a revelation that KCCA in partnership with the security ministry as well as the works ministry was in preparations of coming up with rules and regulations to govern the bodaboda business.
