The National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka have declared fresh war on officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC saying it should be disbanded since it cannot handle a credible election.

This follows a land mark court Kenya’s Supreme Court ruling where a bench of six Judges led by the Chief Justice David Maraga nullified the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta over the electoral commission’s failure to conduct the polls according to the Constitution and Elections Act, ording for fresh elections within 60 days from today.

Lawyers who represented President Kenyatta and the IEBC protested the judgment with Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, faulting the court, saying it had made a political decision because no one is disputing that the voter made his decision.

But Justice Maraga said, in due time, they would be able to demonstrate why they reached their decision.

Odinga, who ran for State House for the fourth time on August 8, said they do not have faith in the commission headed by  Wafula Wanyonyi Chebukati but credited the independence showed by the Kenya’s supreme court

Odinga states that for the first time Kenya has made a historical judgment on African continent. Immediately after the court ruling, NASA supporters jammed the streets to celebrate their victory.

However President Kenyatta has also address the nation at state house Nairobi on the court ruling totally disagreeing with the decision of the Supreme Court to nullify his re-election because his win was as a result of the will of the people but said he accepts and respects it.

He called on Kenyans to maintain peace and vowed to beat his arch-rival Raila Odinga and his Nasa brigade at the ballot in the repeat polls due in 60 days.
