A delegation of leaders from Kisoro have petitioned the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda for the unconditional release of former Inspector General Police (IGP) General Kale Kayihura from Makindye barracks where he is still held over unknown charges for over a month now.

With a statement from the District Chairperson Abel Bizimana, the people appeal to President Yoweri Museveni to prevail over Kayihura’s case because he is a citizen who has served his country diligently.

They further quote articles 23(4) and 28(3) of the constitution that demands for the production of a suspect before courts of law within 48hours that must be respected.

They however insist that government has unfairly treated their person despite the loyalty and unwavering support he has extended to this government.
