Government is to take action on whoever orchestrated the violence in Apaa Parish Amuru District where land clashes have claimed five lives, 27 are nursing wounds while over 7000 were displaced with their property destroyed.

Addressing journalists at the police headquarters in Naguru, the police spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye revealed that investigations into the deadly incident between communities in Amuru and Adjumani districts have commenced and ready to bring the culprits to book.

His address comes as the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana  arrived in Gulu to forge a way forward with all leaders and security operatives over the problem.

The area under contention covers 20 square kilometers of land located in a contested wildlife reserve gazetted in 2002. Several attempts to demarcate the disputed boundary have attracted angry protests from residents in Apaa parish Amuru district saying the boundary had been inflated.

Members of parliament from the region accuse government through the Security forces; the police and UPDF of fueling the attacks. According to Gilbert Olanya, the secretary of Acholi Parliamentary Group, Police Commander was attempting to block the Prime Minister from visiting the victims because they wanted to conceal information.

However Kasingye dismissed such utterances saying their role is to provide security adding they cannot sit and watch when many of the victims who have since been admitted to Lacor hospital and Pabbo health centre III are in critical condition with spears and arrows in their bodies with yet many others living in fear.

Meanwhile, police have warned to drag media houses especially Redpepper if they continue to publish false stories about the health of Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura, where they reported that Kayihura is in critical condition in India undergoing treatment yet he is in Turkey for a national duty.
