The Minister for Relief, Refugees and Disaster Preparedness Eng Hillary Onek has been issued with fresh summons to appear before Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s Land Inquiry Commission today.

Eng. Onek had been summoned in line with allegations of issuing death threats against the former Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Steven Irumba who accuses his Ministry and some officials from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) of grabbing his 200 acreage Land in Kyaaka-Kyegegwa District and later used it for Refugee activities.

The Commission’s lawyer Ebert Byenkya informed the judge on Tuesday that Minister Onek would not appear, because he had left for medical treatment in India and would show up when he returns.

It upon this background that the Commissions chairperson Justice Catherine Bamugemereire issued fresh summons for Onek to show up without fail.
