Kyadondo East by-election has been faced with some fracases that caused anger among voters and police action to make sure that the electoral exercise is secured.

By 7am voters had started to cast their votes however along the way incidents of interference like at Wapeewo polling station where Nsangi LCIII Chairman who is also Wakiso NRM chairman Haji Abbas Kiyimba  was intercepted for trying to intimidate voters with a pistol.

A few minutes ago, angry group of voters mostly, supporters of independent candidate Robert Kyagulanyi gathered outside Kasangati resort center in protest, after receiving information that there were pre-ticked ballots hidden in there demanding the premises to be opened and boxes purported to be their checked. Police has dispelled the romours and is trying to calm the rowdy protestors.

Eelier on Police arrested Independent candidate Muwada Nkunyinji, for causing confusion at Kiteezi disabled polling station over interapting voters by sitting in the line after  the polling officials referred him to another polling center where his name would be he is still detained at Kasangati police station.

The FDC candidate Apollo Kantinti who is the former Kyadondo East MP did not vote at Wampeewo where he was supposed to cast his vote and according to the Electoral Commission spokesperson Jotham Taremwa clarified that Apollo Katinti is a registered voter in Mukono municipality.

The NRM candidate Sitenda Sebalu after casting his vote at Yoga primary school in Wampeewo  said he was sure of the victory and would invite independent candidate Ssentamu Kyagulanyi to entertain his voters.

The race has got Sitenda Ssebalu of NRM,  Muwada Nkunyingi, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, both FDC leaning independents, Apollo Kantinti the FDC main candidate, Sowedi Kayongo Male and Edward Kasasa.

The EC deputy chairperson Hajji Aisha Lubega while addressing the media at Kasangati Ssazza ground assured of a free and fare election calling on people to go and cast their votes and wait for counting hour at 4pm.

Kyadondo East constituency has 72,818 registered voters with 93 polling stations.
