The Leader of Opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Achan has proposed for the establishment of a committee of speakers to cover gaps in case of need for special parliamentary work.

Her Proposals comes after Mps absconded today’s special sitting when the body of late AG Peter Nyombi was brought to parliament this afternoon for lay in state and public view and it was worsened by the absence of both  speakers to preside over a special sitting in respect and honor of the late in the chambers of parliament.

For the first time the absences forced the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda and Government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa to preside over the receiving of the body.

However, the Prime Minister said that the arrangement was agreed upon by government being that parliament is in recess and the tribute to the late will be paid when parliament resumes next month.

Nyombi succumbed to high blood pressure last Sunday at 64yrs of age. He served as the Attorney General and as MP for Buluuri County in the 9th parliament.

He will be buried on Thursday in Nakasongora district.
