Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has called for the restructuring of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the abolition of the Kampala Ministry saying it has no clear mandate of work but rather to waste tax payers’ money.

Lukwago, who has been Lord Mayor of Kampala City since the creation of KCCA in 2011, has been at loggerheads with the ministers in charge of the docket now Betty Namisango Kamya whom he accuses of posturing to grab Lord Mayor’s functions.

Lukwago told the press today that Kampala should be placed under Local Government Ministry like other district titles like of the Executive director scrapped because they are confusing some leaders like Mrs. Jennifer Musisi.

KCCA currently has 10 directorates staffed with directors and deputy directors, but Lukwago says they should be reduced to five. Each director is paid 22 million Shillings, while deputy directors are paid 18 million Shillings.
